How long does it take, and how much does it cost?
Because every project involving custom 3D printed interior features is entirely bespoke, providing a flat rate is impossible. However, understanding the factors that drive cost and time can help in planning.
Project Timeline
The timeline is split into design, printing, and finishing. A complex, massive feature wall might take several days of continuous printing, followed by a week or more of meticulous hand-sanding and painting to achieve a flawless, high-end finish. Most projects are completed within 2 to 4 weeks from design approval.
Cost Drivers
The primary cost drivers are the volume of material used, the machine time, and the extent of manual post-processing. A 'raw' functional piece is much cheaper than a highly polished, painted exhibition-quality piece. However, compared to the cost of commissioning a traditional artisan to carve complex geometries by hand, 3D printing is often significantly more cost-effective.
